Sandra D. Carpenter, a shareholder in the firm, is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1994. For more than eight years, Ms. Carpenter served as General Counsel for the Arlington Independent School District. In that capacity, she represented the school district, supervised outside counsel in areas including employment, construction, general contracts, real estate contracts, student discipline, special education and 504 and other general legal issues faced by school districts, and provided legal training for teachers and staff. Prior to joining Arlington ISD, Ms. Carpenter was with the Austin office of Walsh, Anderson. Additionally, she served as a legal intern for a U.S. District Court and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, and she was a Federal Investigator with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. Carpenter has written articles for the Texas School Administrators' Legal Digest and has been a frequent speaker and trainer at conferences around the state on legal issues affecting schools.
