Joe B. Hairston is a founding shareholder in the firm.  Before he entered private practice, he held various positions with the Texas Association of School Boards.  He also has taught school law in the Departments of Educational Administration at the University of Texas and Baylor University.  Mr. Hairston has published numerous articles in the field of school law and was co-author of The Educator's Guide to Texas School Law, Second Edition.  He has served as Chairman of the School Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and Vice-Chairman of the TASB Council of School Attorneys.  Mr. Hairston received his Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Minnesota in 1971 and his law degree from the University of Texas in 1975.
